Pigmentation Problems

The Tamjidi Skin Institute is Dedicated to Promoting Beautiful Skin

Do you suffer from skin pigmentation problems? There are two forms of this skin condition; hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. Hyperpigmentation occurs when the body produces too much melanin (the naturally occurring pigment in the body that is responsible for the color of our eyes, hair, and skin) and can create patches of darker skin over the body. Hypopigmentation presents itself when your body creates too little melanin and results in portions of lighter skin.

We Can Help You with Your Pigmentation Issues

Melanin protects the body from harmful ultraviolet light. This is why those who from suffer from hypopigmentation disorders, like vitiligo and albinism, must take extra care to keep their skin protected from the rays of the sun.

Liver spots, a common form of hyperpigmentation, are on the opposite side of the spectrum and are a result of sun damage. Melasma is another form of hyperpigmentation as it creates a dark mask-like discoloration that covers the bridge of the nose and the cheeks. It is usually triggered by pregnancy and happens when hormones are imbalanced and begin to rapidly increase the production of melanin.
