Soonyou Kwon MD, FAAD

Dr. Kwon Dr. Kwon graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where she was a NIH GCRC clinical research fellow in dermatology. She completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Maryland and then her fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Hugh M. Gloster, Jr. at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Kwon is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.

She specializes in the surgical treatment of skin cancers on the head, neck, hands and feet. She believes in safe and conservative approaches that minimizes cancer recurrence and scarring. She has published in a wide range of dermatologic topics in prestigious medical journals regarding Mohs surgery techniques and various forms of skin cancer.
With recent changes in healthcare, Dr. Kwon is concerned about the physician’s ability to continue to provide personalized care for her patients and is grateful for the opportunity to join the Tamjidi Skin Institute where patient care is placed first.

Dr.K won is excited to settle down in the DMV where her husband grew up. She enjoys hiking, reading, and perusing the aisles of the local farmers’ markets. Her goal is to learn how to cook with the purchases she makes at them and would welcome home recipes.
